Who is Cré ?

Cré – The Composting Association of Ireland Teo was established in 2001. Cré is the Irish word for ‘Earth’. Its mission statement is

*     To promote composting and compost utilisation in Ireland.

*     The Association’s function is to infuse best practices into the development of an industry

*     Promote public awareness

*     Promote research

*     Develop of an information storehouse on composting and compost utilisation

 

Cré provides an informative website (www.cre.ie), frequent newsletters, position papers, submissions on forthcoming legislation, policy, and strategy, regular themed meeting with site visits and an annual conference.

Who are we?

Cré the Composting Association of Ireland is a non-profit organisation which serves as a forum to promote composting and compost utilisation.

The overall responsibility for running the association is by our Board. Daily management is by the Association Chair, Treasurer and Chief Executive  who report to the Board. The Association has two committees – the Technical Committee and Public Relations Committee.

Executive Administrator

 

In March 2006, Cré hired Percy Foster as Executive Administrator for a six month period to facilitate the organisation’s growth. This role will take on the executive duties of Association Secretary and coordinate the affairs of the association.

In accordance with accounting practice, the Association’s accounts are audited each year by a Registered Auditor.
